Most gradebook software will claim that it allows you to use standards-based grading practices. Almost none deliver on that promise. As you develop your policy, review the products below to find one that best matches what you need. You may still have to make some adjustments.

• Markscan was designed by a teacher in Ontario after moving to standards-based grading. It has some good graphic options.
• ActiveGrade is one of the most popular commercial tools for standards-based grading.
• Pinnacle Grade (formerly Excelsior) uses a variety of colors and graphics to view information from student scores.
• Jupiter Grades promotes flexibility between traditional and standards-based practices. You can see a sample report card here.
• Benchmark Grading claims to increase teaching quality via scoring against state standards and benchmarks.
