Welcome to Standards-Based Grading!

Standards-based grading is a powerful method of scoring and reporting student work based on standards. It requires change in both classroom philosophy and practice. Whether you're new to these ideas or have been implementing them for years, there are resources here for you.

If you're just beginning the journey, use the Books and Articles to build background knowledge, or Research for a deeper look at grading practices. You can read and engage with peers who are actively using standards-based grading in their classrooms via Blogs and Social Media. Visit the Policy page for examples of classroom and district practices. Software and Reporting Tools will give you a look at new ways to communicate grades to various stakeholders, including links for data visualization.

Please contact me (Tara.Richerson@gmail.com) for further information about this site. Or, visit the Presentations and Consulting page to find out more about me and how I can work with your school or district to implement standards-based grading and reporting.
